Every recording,
written down.

How it works
Record anywhere. Read it later.
Record
Capture meetings, calls, lectures and ideas on your Max 7, or with your phone when the recorder isn't to hand.
Sync
Notey finds your recorder over Bluetooth and copies new recordings across. For long sessions, it switches to the recorder's Wi-Fi for a much faster transfer.
Read
Each recording gets a transcript, a title and a short summary, made on your phone. Search across all of them to find what was said.
Features
A quiet app for the things you said.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi sync
Connects to your recorder, lists what's on it and downloads new recordings. Large files go over the recorder's own Wi-Fi hotspot.
On-device transcripts
Speech recognition for English, Chinese, Cantonese, Japanese and Korean, running on your phone's own processor.
Titles and summaries
A small language model on your device names each recording and writes a few lines on what it covered.
Search everything
Find a recording by any word in its title, summary or transcript, then jump straight to that moment.
Cleaner playback
Reduce background noise, even out volume and skip long silences. Your original recording is never changed.
Yours to share
Send a recording to any app with the share sheet. Deleted items wait in Trash before they're gone.
Privacy
Your recordings never leave your phone.
Recordings capture private conversations. So Notey was built to do all of its work on your device, and to know nothing about you.
No cloud
Recordings, transcripts and summaries are stored only on your device. We don't have servers that could receive them.
No account
There's nothing to sign up for. Notey doesn't ask for your name, email or phone number.
No tracking
No analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers. The app goes online only to download its speech and summary models once.
Questions
Good to know
Which recorders does Notey work with?
Notey works with the Max 7 voice recorder. Without a recorder, you can record with your phone's microphone and still get transcripts and summaries.
Do I need an internet connection?
Only once. The first time you turn on transcripts, Notey downloads its speech and summary models (about 1.4 GB, so Wi-Fi is best). After that, syncing, transcribing, summarizing and playback all work offline.
How accurate are the transcripts and summaries?
They're made automatically and are usually good, but they can miss words or get things wrong, especially with background noise or several people talking at once. Check anything important against the recording.
Where are my recordings stored?
In Notey's private storage on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them, so share or export anything you want to keep first. Your phone's own backups may include them, depending on your settings.
Is it legal to record conversations?
That depends on where you are. Many places require everyone being recorded to agree, especially on phone calls. Please check the laws that apply to you.
Is Notey made by the recorder's manufacturer?
No. Notey is an independent app. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the maker of the Max 7.
